Live at the Vaults
Live at the Vaults was a music-based television programme right on the pulse of today’s tastes. With acts ranging from rap to folk to rock, there was something new and exciting for everyone.
The show was Broadcast on Made in Cardiff and the broader Made TV franchise from February 6th 2015 for 6 weeks in the prime time 9 pm slot on a Friday. The show was a local hit and provided further working opportunities between ourselves and Made TV.Visit Site
We were commissioned in December 2015 to produce a television show for Made in Cardiff TV. A new station at the time, they were looking for fresh content to push to the younger 18-34 demographic that was focused on the local area. They were particularly interested in the local music scene and wanted to get young local talent involved (that included us!)
With our interest piqued and a passion for music, we set out to create a brand new format and show that embodied Cardiff. This led us to a favourite but the rather well-kept secret is hidden in Cardiff Bay, popular with the locals. The Vaults is an old bank vault from 1926, used to host special DJ nights in its underground club, labelled one of the best underground venues in the UK. It's also been used on hit TV shows such as Dr Who and Casualty, but more than that it is related to the young people of Cardiff who knew the place and had an awesome atmosphere, perfect for filming our new show.
We signed up three fantastic presenters, singer-songwriter Jon Lilygreen (a previous Eurovision Song Contest representative for Cyprus), Bongo Peet (a popular figure from Newport who performs with Jon) and Sian King (a professional young presenter with Made in Cardiff TV at the time, who went on to host daily with the channel).
All we had to find were musicians to perform on the show, and we were inundated with requests. We were able to select the cream of the crop of the up and coming talent of the time to get them to come down and film including Welsh grime band Astroid Boys, the Voice auditionee Tobias Robertson and Into the Ark (who went on to be runners-up for Tom Jones in The Voice series 6).
After extensive filming, we were proud to present our first-ever Television show onto your screens.
