Cardiff Hidden Histories was commissioned in mid-2015 with the task of producing a local history show for Made in Cardiff TV. With the stations focus on local affairs and mission to focus on interesting content in Cardiff, we saw this as a great opportunity to explore the rich history of Cardiff.

Cardiff's Hidden Histories gave us an accessible history series for all ages that explores local stories and characters in South Wales. To create the series we joined up with local historian James Cowan and presenter Loran Sullivan and laid out a format where we studied different people and times in Cardiff's history accompanied by interviews, archive footage, re-enactments and animation in a family-friendly series written to be accessible for viewers of any age with any level of historical knowledge.

During the show, we explored a variety of stories, including the bombs that fell (including V2 rockets) on Cardiff during the Blitz in World War Two and how the residents of Cardiff hid in Cardiff Castle for protection and the story of Benjamin Swann, a butcher's apprentice who committed a crazy murder and is the only convicted murderer in Cathays Cemetery.

We also explored the history of important Cardiff Landmarks such as Llandaff Cathedral, the rich cultural history of areas such as Grangetown and Cardiff Docks and interesting stories of famous people from the area, including the story of the Terra Nova expedition.
